Rules
1. PLEASE CHECK IN UPON ARRIVAL AND PRIOR TO YOUR RUN.
2. ALL HPR RACES WILL BE FORMATTED ON A RACE BY RACE BASIS. (PLEASE SEE SHOW FLYER FOR DETAILS)
3. SIDE POTS WILL BE ON A RACE BY RACE BASIS UPON PRODUCERS DECISION (PLEASE SEE SHOW FLYER FOR AGES AND INFORMATION)
4. ENTRIES:
- a. PRE-ENTRIES WILL HAVE A DEADLINE PER EACH EVENT (PLEASE SEE FLYER FOR DEADLINE DETAILS)
- b. PRE-ENTRY FORMS OF PAYMENT ARE CHECK, CREDIT CARD & STRIPE
- c. IF ENTERING VIA TEXT/EMAIL, A COMPLETED ENTRY FORM WILL NEED TO BE TEXT OR EMAILED ALONG WITH PAYMENT MADE/RECEIVED BEFORE YOU WILL BE ENTERED INTO THE PRE-DRAW. FAILURE TO SEND ENTRY FORM WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED A PRE-ENTRY.
- d. THERE WILL BE A $50 NSF CHARGE ON ALL RETURN CHECKS RETURN FOR PRE-ENTRY
- e. THERE WILL BE A $25 LATE FEE ON ALL ENTRIES RECEIVED AFTER SHOW PRE-ENTRY DEADLINE. INCLUDING HORSE ADDITIONS TO YOUR ORIGINAL ENTRY
- f. A HORSE MAY BE COMPETED ON ONLY BY 1 PERSON PER DAY.
- g. LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED AT THE EVENT UNTIL THE LAST 100 BIG DRAG OF THE EVENT AND MAY CHANGE FROM EVENT TO EVENT. PLEASE SEE EVENT FLYER FOR LATE ENTRY RULES. ONCE ANNOUNCER STATES BOOKS ARE CLOSED, ABSOLUTELY NO ENTRIES WILL BE TAKEN FOR SAID EVENT.
- h. LATE ENTRY PAYMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED IN THE FORM OF CASH, VENMO, AND CREDIT CARD.
- i. YOUTH CAN ROLL OVER TO OPEN AS LONG AS ENTRIES ARE PAID.
5. DRAW:
- a. HPR WILL PUBLISH THE PRE-ENTRY DRAW ON THE WEDNESDAY PRIOR TO SHOW DATE.
- b. PRE-ENTRY AND LATE DRAWS WILL BE A RANDOM DRAW.
- c. IT IS THE CONTESTANTS RESPONSIBILITY TO KNOW HIS/HER DRAW POSITION. A RE-RUN OR NEW POSITION WILL NOT BE GIVEN FOR FAILURE TO BE PRESENT FOR YOUR RUN.
6. HORSE CHANGES:
- a. WILL BE ACCEPTED AT ANYTIME PROPR TO YOUR RUN AND FORMS MUST BE COMPLETED AND TURNED INTO SHOW OFFICE
- b. ABSOLUTELY NO RIDER SUBSTITUTIONS
7. DRAW OUT / VET OUTS:
- a. A DRAW/VET OUT REFUND FORM FOR ENTRY FEES NEED TO BE SUBMITTED NO LATER THAN NOVEMBER 21st BY 5:00 PM. ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED AFTER THIS DATE FOR ANY REASON. ONCE A DRAW/VET OUT FORM IS COMPLETED WE WILL REFUND 90% OF ENTRY FEES 1 WEEK AFTER SAID EVENT IS COMPLETE.
8. BBR/WPRA: IF EVENT IS APPROVED BY EITHER ALL CONTESTANTS MUST PROVIDE THEIR CARD NUMBER OR MEMBER NUMBER AT TIME OF ENTRY. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL PREVENT CORRECT REPORTING TO SAID ASSOCIATION.
9. PAYOUT: PAYOUT TO BE BASED ON BBR PAYOUT SCALE. ALL PAYOUTS: WILL BE MADE BY CHECK TO THE CONTESTANT. WE WILL NEED A SOCIAL SECURITY ON FILE BEFORE ANY PAYOUTS ARE MADE TO CONTESTANTS. ALL CHECKS NOT PICKED UP AT THE SHOW OFFICE WILL BE MAILED OUT AFTER SOCIAL SECURITY IS PROVIDED. HPR WILL NOT RE-ISSUE LOST OR DESTROYED CHECKS BEFORE 30 DAYS AFTER ISSUE AND WILL CHARGE ALL BANK FEES SUBJECT.
- a. OPEN PAYOUT 75% OF ENTRY FEES AND 100% OF ADDED MONEY
- b. YOUTH PAYOUT 75% OF ENTRY FEES AND 100% OF ADDED MONEY
- c. SIDEPOTS 75% OF ENTRY FEES AND 100% IF ANY MONEY IS ADDED TO SIDEPOT
- d. IF PRIZES ARE AWARDED CONTESTANT IS RESPONISBLE FOR SHIPPING COST OF AWARDS.
- e. YOU MAY DESIGNATE SOMEONE TO PICK UP CHECKS, SAID PERSON WILL SIGN FOR CHECK AND HPR IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR CHECKS ONCE PICKED UP FROM SHOW OFFICE.
10. SIDEPOTS: (AGES ARE AS OF JANUARY 1ST OF CURRENT YEAR)
- a. JUNIOR AGES 18 & UNDER
- b. ADULT AGES 19-49
- c. SENIOR AGES 50 & OVER
- d. KIDDIE BARRELS/ SPECIAL NEEDS BARRELS MUST BE 8 OR UNDER OR REQUIRE ASSISTANCE IN RIDING. LEADLINE IS ACCEPTABLE IN KIDDIE BARRELS.
11. EXHIBITIONS WILL BE $5.00 EACH AND WILL BE SOLD AT EACH EVENT ON FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS. WE WILL RUN EXHIBITION BY PURCHASING TICKETS. YOU WILL HAND TICKETS AS YOU WISH TO DO THE EXHIBITION. WE WILL TAKE TICKETS AT THE GATE ONLY AS YOU WISH TO RUN AND NOT BEFORE. WE ASK THAT ALL EXHIBITIONS BE KEPT TO A 60 SECOND TIME LIMIT AS THIS IS NOT TRAINING BARRELS. WE WANT EVERYONE TO HAVE A CHANCE TO GET EXHIBITIONS DONE.
12. DRESS CODE: WESTERN ATTIRE CONSIST OF HAT, LONG SLEEVED WESTERN SHIRT, JEANS, AND BOOTS. WE WILL HAVE EVENT SHIRTS AND WILL WAIVE THE HAT AND LONG SLEEVE RULE IF EVENT SHIRT IS PURCHASED.
13. STALLS: Absolutely NO REFUNDS on stalls. If you have reserved your stall, but no longer need it, you may sell to another rider. The arena does not allow outside shavings. One bag is provided per day per stall.
14. TIMER MALFUNCTION: IN THE EVENT OF A TIMER MALFUNCTION, A RE-RUN WILL BE AWARDED BEFORE THE NEXT BIG DRAG WITH A FRESH DRAG. IF THE BARRELS ARE NOT PROPERLY PLACED ON MARKERS A RE-RUN WILL BE AWARDED AS WELL. NO PENALITIES WILL BE APPLIED.
15. ALLEY WAY: THERE WILL BE NO CIRCLING IN THE ALLEY WAY ONCE FORWARD MOTION IS COMITTED CONTESTANT MUST CONTINUE FORWARD MOTION. HORSE NOT COOPERATING IS NOT CONSIDERED CIRCLING.
16. SHOW / COMPETITION RULES:
- a. RIDERS MUST CHECK IN WITH GATE WORKERS BEFORE ENTERING HOLDING PEN. ONCE A RIDER IS ANNOUNCED BY THE ANNOUNCER YOU WILL HAVE 3 GATE CALLS TO BREAK THE PLANE OF THE ALLEY. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN A SCRATCH. ONCE YOU ARE CONSIDERED A SCRATCH YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO RUN IN ANY OTHER POSITION AND NO MONEY WILL BE REFUNDED.
- b. HOLDING PENS WILL BE USED FOR EVENTS. YOU MAY ENTER FROM EITHER THE LEFT OF THE RIGHT, WE ASK THAT WHEN YOU CHECK IN TO LET GATE WORKER KNOW IF YOU WILL BE ENTERING FROM LEFT GATE.
- c. THERE WILL BE NO CIRCLING OF THE BARREL OR TRAINING OF ANY KIND DURING COMPETITION. IF A PATTERN IS BROKEN CONTESTANT CAN COMPLETE THE PATTERN FROM THAT POINT AND EXIT THE ARENA.
- d. NO RE-RUNS WILL BE GIVEN IF A RIDER’S EQUIPMENT FAILS AT ANY TIME DURING COMPETITION.
- e. CONTEST MUST RUN HORSES IN CORRECT ORDER IF RUNNING MULTIPLE HORSES. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN DISQULIFICATION OF BOTH HORSES.
17. DRAGS: THE MULTI RACE WILL START EACH DAY WITH A FRESH DRAG. WE WILL DRAG EVERY 5 RIDERS AND A BIG DRAG AT EVERY 50 HORSES. IT IS AT THE GROUND CREWS DISGRESSION AT WHAT POINT WATER WILL BE PUT ON ARENA GROUND. OUR GOAL IS FOR SAFE GROUND FOR ALL CONTESTANTS.
18. A NO TIME WILL BE GIVEN FOR ALL HIT BARRELS, BROKEN PATTERNS, CONTESTANT RUNNING OUT OF TURN, NOT KEEPING FORWARD MOTION AFTER BREAKING THE PLANE OF THE ALLEY WAY, IF CONTESTANT FALLS OFF OF THEIR HORSE, EQUIPMENT FAILURE, OR FALLING OF CONTESTANT HORSE.
19. ALL HORSES MUST HAVE A CURRENT NEGATIVE COGGINS TEST. BE PREPARED TO SHOW YOUR COGGINS AT ANY TIME DURING HPR EVENTS.
JACKSON MS FACILITY HANDLE ALL RV SPOTS, IT IS 1ST COME 1ST SERVE THEY WILL COME TO YOUR RV TO COLLECT FEES. THERE WILL BE NO RESERVING SPOTS AT THIS FACILITY. THE ONLY RESERVE SPOTS ARE FOR STAFF ONLY.
THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO OVERNIGHT TIE-OUTS, FACILITY RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REMOVE HORSES, STALL THEM UP AND YOU MUST PAY BEFORE GETTING YOUR HORSE OUT.
HPR WILL NOT TOLERATE ANY INHUMANE TREATMENT OF ANY ANIMALS ON SHOW GROUNDS DURING ENTIRE EVENT. CONTESTANT WILL BE WARNED AND IF CONTINUED WILL BE DISQUALIFIED AND ASKED TO LEAVE SHOW GROUNDS.
***DISQUALIFICATION CAN BE ASSESSED FOR THE FOLLOWING: ***
- ABUSIVE OR IMTEMPERATE LANGUAGE, THREAT ATTEMPTS, BRIBES, HARASSMENT OF A CONTESTANT, STAFF MEMBER, FACILITY MEMBER, OR SPECTATOR.
- ABUSE OF ANY ANIMAL ON SHOW GROUNDS
- SWITCHING DRAW POSITIONS
- SWITCHING HORSES AND NOT NOTIFYING SHOW OFFICE PRIOR TO RUN.
- RUNNING OUT OF DRAW POSITION
WE ASK THAT IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS TO PLEASE GET WITH A STAFF MEMBER AND IT WILL ADDRESS IT.
ALL RULES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE
ANY QUESTIONS OR DISPUTES NOT COVERED IN THE RULES WILL BE DECIDED AND SETTLED BY HPR, LLC AND ALL DECISIONS WILL BE FINAL.
